Aphidius ervi is a tiny predatory wasp that preys on potato aphids. Potato aphids (Macrosiphum euphorbia) are the species most often found on garden vegetables, especially tomatoes and their relatives, including peppers, eggplant, and potatoes.
Aphidius ervi wasps inject eggs into the aphids, leaving the aphid alive. After a few days, the egg hatches and a larva emerges to consume its aphid host.
